[FC] Lagrange Point (1991)

How:
Read a convincing review appearing on HG101 in a regular weekly update. Got interested by the space environment and by the introductory cut-scene.
Pros:
- Amazing music from start to end
- Nice playing characters to create a bond with
- Can choose among various human and robot characters for the roster, each having his/her/its peculiarities and role in the story
- Special moves (きめわざ) evolve (at least for the main character) and are fun to watch
- Many monsters
- Nice story and nice narration
- 武器合体!!! With each single weapon boasting its own graphical effect and sound when used
- Status ailments are not aggressive and annoying as usual
- Penalty for death is minimal, characters faint anyway beforehand
- Overall very enjoyable and friendly
Cons:
- Random encounters are way too frequent
- BP are annoying and useless
- An annoying graphical glitch on the border of the screen (which may be due to the emulation after all)
- The game can be beaten basically with just enough grinding without resorting to special moves and special items, which should have been rendered more essential for making progress

[DS] Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box (2007)

Pros:
- Nice story and final resolution
- Nice minigames and characters
- Nice puzzles overall
- A kind of secluded dark mood permeates the game
Cons:
- The little hamster has a hateful voice (the Italian version is way more cute)
- Some puzzles are unclear, ambiguous or incredibly easy (e.g. the line of trees)
- Difficulty is unbalanced throughout the game
- Is really Flora supposed to be unrecognizable with those glasses? Didn't she leave together with Layton and Luke in the previous game?

[PC] Azada: In Libro (2011)

Pros:
- Neat graphics, good variety of music
- Nice settings
- The crying unicorn!
Cons:
- Sometimes the graphics don't match (e.g. the notary at the beginning)
- Some events are foretold in the diary, in general there are problems with continuity
- Ending is underwhelming and anti-climatic
- A very small world
- Extremely light (not challenging and no hidden object sequences)

[PC] Monkey Island 2: Special Edition (2010)

Pros:
- Beautiful graphics and music
- Can play both versions at any time with a cool transient effect
- Much more fluent and swift than the original
Cons:
- Can't skip dialogue
- Music is not given proper weight, buggy transitions
- Guybrush seems floating when walking towards the screen
- New graphics and voiceovers kill much of the creepiness and goofiness of the original game
- The last part needs a very quick hand

[NES] Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom (1988)

Pros:
- Nice, colorful and pleasantly awkward
- A simple adventure with light dungeon crawling and RPG elements
- Finger wars!
Cons:
- Got to double-check and double-talk your way along the game
- Sometimes dialogues repeat even if key events already occurred

[PC] Yeti (2011)

How:
Came up on Adventuregamers.com and other indie websites, receiving enthusiastic reviews.

Pros:
- Short and fun
Cons:
- Too short, ends abruptly

[PC] Don't take it personally, babe, it just ain't your story (2011)

How:
Having enjoyed Digital: A Love Story quite a bit, I've been watching Christine Love's personal webpage waiting for some new game to come out, and it eventually did.

Pros:
- Long-lived, enticing, well-written
- Beautiful characters and backgrounds
- Nice, fitting music
- Love the messaging system
- Characters change their clothes!
- Ingame choices are important to how things evolve (my impression at least), and are not randomly posed
Cons:
- Music doesn't loop properly
- Event drawings (like the kiss scene) clash with the beautiful art
- Christine Love doesn't answer my messages

[PC] Sinking Island (2007)

How:
Enjoyed Syberia and Syberia 2 by B.Sokal, heard in many places about this and actually only heard negative things. Eventually a friend bought it and I borrowed it.

Pros:
- Great graphics for the most part
- Nice (even though not superb) music
- Pleasant PDA mechanics
- Good plot
Cons:
- Difficulty relies on pixel hunting and speaking everytime with everyone about everything
- Frequent graphic glitches
- Awful dubbing (played the Italian version)
- Unskippable dialogues and random events (eating, phone calls) are a pain in the ass
- Few, uninspired puzzles
- Gameplay is a matter of running around the tower searching for clues and characters
- Ugly animations
- Found it very difficult to relate with the main character
