[FC] 月風魔伝 (1987)

How:
Found it mentioned a couple of times on hg101 forums, then read the review on the same site and immediately went out to play (and beat it in two days).
Pros:
- Fast-paced and addicting gameplay
- Cool setting
- Some levels can be rather challenging
- Nice variety of weapons and items
- Colorful and evocative levels and monsters
- The varied gameplay (side-scrolling action, dungeon crawling, boss fights, map exploration) strikes a good balance
Cons:
- Requires a good amount of backtracking
- Easy to exploit in order to max out the character stats
- Boss fights are too easy
- A bit short

[PC] The Old Tree (2012)

Pros:
- Nice atmosphere
Cons:
- Reminiscent of Machinarium
- Too easy and poetic

[FC] Dream Master (1992)

How:
Actually found it out myself by randomly clicking my way through the all-roms collection I have, looking for something fun and unusual.

Pros:
- No grinding at all
- A light and immediate hybrid RPG/puzzle/adventure game
- Beautiful illustrations
- There's always something happening
- A replayable RPG for once
Cons:
- A bit too easy
- Sometimes unfair (damned warp tiles)

[Amiga] Heimdall 2 (1994)


Pros:
- Beautiful graphics and animations
- Memorable plot and setting
- Difficult puzzles
- Many colorful places to visit
- It is an incredible pleasure to play this game
- The rune system is functional and fun
- Fights are difficult at the beginning but soon become part of the fun
- You can choose at any time among two characters
- Very good balance between adventure, RPG and arcade
- Hard and long-lived
Cons:
- Not much music
- Some dead-ends (e.g. by letting the wrong people die)

[PC] Digital: A Love Story (2010)


Pros:
- Very innovative
- Incredibly immersive
- The story runs smoothly and manages to surprise despite the (intentionally so) obsolete interface
Cons:
- Messages are received only upon (any) user action
- Full-screen mode would have been nice for a total immersion

[PC] Mystery Case Files: 13th Skull (2010)


Pros:
- Puzzles are well integrated and of average difficulty, making for a pretty casual long game (around 10-11 hours)
- Many human characters to interact with
- Excellent art and production (as always), with human actors well integrated into the environment
- Engaging mystery
Cons:
- The game tells you what needs to be done
- A handful of hints and objects are useless as they refer to the Collector's Edition
- Acting skills are sometimes dubious
- Dialogues are one-shot and there is not much of a choice
- A couple of ill-posed puzzles
- Many silly puzzles, e.g. dispose rubbish, make gumbo and look out for brushes and dusters for the housekeeper
- At times, the diary reveals facts that are still to be discovered

[PC] Mystery Case Files: Dire Grove (2009)


Pro:
- Belle atmosfere
- Ottima grafica
- Ottima musica ed effetti sonori
- Molto avvincente e piuttosto longevo
- Buon uso di FMV sia ingame che nelle scene di intermezzo
- Enigmi non banalissimi e mai frustranti
- Le parti di hidden objects non sono invadenti e hanno un loro perché
Contro:
- Storia già sentita
- Finale un po' brusco
- Recitazione altalenante che a volte lascia un po' a desiderare
- A volte troppo semplice, il gioco dà troppi aiuti
- A volte ci si ritrova a rivisitare a caso le stesse location per cercare nuovi oggetti

[DS] Hotel Dusk: Room 215 (2007)


Pro:
- Storia interessante
- Buoni dialoghi
- Grafica particolare
Contro:
- Molta storia, poco gioco
- Alcune espressioni dei personaggi sono ridicole
- Enigmi banali e suggerimenti eccessivi
- Non si possono saltare le parti di testo, non si può salvare sempre, il game over va più che altro a fortuna
